The discussion focused on developing Polish-Japanese cultural cooperation and exploring opportunities for joint initiatives. The year 2026, declared the Year of Andrzej Wajda, provides a special opportunity to commemorate the legacy of the outstanding Polish film director and his remarkable ties to Japan. Wajda was not only one of the most important figures in Polish cinema, but also an exceptional ambassador for intercultural dialogue. His longstanding fascination with Japan, his interest in its art and culture, and the establishment of the Manggha Museum in Kraków are a unique example of how culture can bring the two nations closer together. The meeting underscored the importance of cooperation between cultural institutions and civil society organizations in building lasting ties between Poland and Japan. It also provided an opportunity to discuss potential cultural and educational projects that could contribute to further strengthening mutual relations.
