The Poland–Japan Foundation has published a new paper by Magdalena Ruda, titled "EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA): ex-post evaluation (findings on Poland’s economic performance)". The paper examines how Poland has performed under the EU–Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA) since its entry into force in 2019, drawing on the European Commission's ex-post evaluation of the Agreement. It highlights positive trends, including increased bilateral trade, higher utilisation of EPA tariff preferences, and strong growth in Polish exports of selected agri-food products. At the same time, it identifies areas where Poland could better leverage the Agreement, such as expanding geographical indications, strengthening services trade and investment, and providing greater support to Polish exporters.
