The Poland-Japan Foundation has published a new article by Magdalena Ruda titled: “EU-Japan Economic Partnership Agreement (EPA): ex-post evaluation (findings on Poland’s economic performance)”. The publication analyzes Poland’s economic performance under the trade agreement between the EU and Japan (EPA) since its entry into force in 2019, based on an ex-post evaluation conducted by the European Commission. The article points to positive trends, such as an increase in bilateral trade, greater utilization of tariff preferences resulting from the EPA, and dynamic growth in Polish exports of selected agri-food products. Simultaneously, it identifies areas where Poland could better leverage the opportunities offered by the agreement, including expanding the protection of geographical indications, strengthening trade in services and investments, and providing greater support for Polish exporters.
