Anime, manga, and soft power: Japanese culture in Poland

This is a new policy opinion and analysis paper from the Poland-Japan Foundation, authored by Waka Ikeda. Based on field research in Poland, it explores how Japanese pop culture (especially manga and anime) has become mainstream in Polish youth culture and argues that private actors like Studio JG/Yatta.pl are now more effective cultural bridges than traditional state diplomacy, calling for a more strategic Japan–Poland creative industry partnership.
