Foundation's Cooperation with Hamamatsu: Meeting with the Mayor

On June 27th, Radosław Tyszkiewicz, the President of the Foundation, met with Yusuke Nakano, the Mayor of Hamamatsu in the Shizuoka Prefecture. The discussions focused on the potential for future cooperation between the Foundation and the Japanese city, particularly in the context of the Hamamatsu-Warsaw relations and Chopin's music. The collaboration between the two cities has been ongoing since the 1990s, with the construction of Act City and the replica of the Warsaw Chopin monument serving as one of its key symbols. Additionally, the Hamamatsu International Piano Competition, in which Polish artists participate, is one of the most significant cultural events in both countries' calendars. Hamamatsu is a city where music plays a central role in its culture, especially thanks to companies like Yamaha and Kawai.
