A joint path toward new initiatives – the Poland–Japan Foundation and the City of Kraków

In a warm and inspiring atmosphere, a meeting took place between Radosław Tyszkiewicz, President of the Poland–Japan Foundation, and Łukasz Sęk, Deputy Mayor of the City of Kraków. The conversation provided an opportunity to highlight the long-standing and exceptionally close relations between Kraków and Japan – both in the economic and cultural spheres. The importance of initiatives such as the activities of the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology – which for years has served as a bridge connecting Polish and Japanese culture – and the partnership agreement between Wawel Royal Castle and Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, was recalled. The discussion also touched upon the upcoming visit of representatives of the Małopolska region to Expo 2025 in Osaka, which could open new opportunities for promoting the region in Japan. During the meeting, President Tyszkiewicz presented the mission and achievements of the Poland–Japan Foundation to date, and discussed potential areas of cooperation with the City of Kraków. Both parties expressed their willingness to develop joint initiatives that will strengthen ties between Poland and Japan, to the benefit of the residents of Kraków and the entire region.
