Venture Café Tokyo: Women and capital in startups

Radosław Tyszkiewicz, President of the Poland-Japan Foundation, joined an important discussion at Venture Café Tokyo on the future of Japan’s startup ecosystem and the realities behind investment decisions. The session, “From 2% to Moving the Money: Driving Growth & Capital for Women Founders,” explored why funding remains uneven—especially for women founders—and what is happening inside VC firms that shapes these outcomes. Drawing on perspectives from both Japan and Europe, he contributed to a deeper understanding of how the system can evolve. The panel concluded with concrete commitments aimed at creating a more inclusive and effective investment landscape.
