During his visit to Hokkaido, the President of the Poland–Japan Foundation, Radosław Tyszkiewicz, met with Prof. Norihiro Naganawa, Director of the Slavic-Eurasian Research Center (SRC) at Hokkaido University – one of the world’s leading centers for research on Central and Eastern Europe, which also plays an important role for Poland. The discussion focused on prospects for cooperation, including the implementation of joint projects and support for the newly established think tank of the Poland–Japan Foundation. The Slavic-Eurasian Research Center at Hokkaido University has for many years maintained strong academic and cultural ties with Poland. Polish scholars have taken part in its activities as visiting fellows. Thanks to its rich collections, publications, academic exchange programs, joint research, and events, the Center has built lasting relations with Poland, placing them within the broader context of research on Eastern Europe and Eurasia.

The Polish-Japanese Foundation (FPJ) works for cooperation and development of mutual relations between entities and residents from both countries.
