President of the Poland–Japan Foundation, Radosław Tyszkiewicz, paid a visit to Tsuruga, where he met with the new director of the Port of Humanity Tsuruga Museum, Takuya Okada. During their conversation, they discussed prospects for continued cooperation and the possibility of carrying out joint initiatives, particularly in the field of historical education and cultural projects. Tsuruga holds a special place in the history of the Polish Siberian Children — it was through its port that Polish children evacuated from Siberia arrived in Japan between 1920 and 1922, finding care and support there. Cooperation with Poland is also intensifying at the local level, as evidenced by the summer visit of Tsuruga’s mayor, Koji Yonezawa, to Poland.

The Polish-Japanese Foundation (FPJ) works for cooperation and development of mutual relations between entities and residents from both countries.
