Polish Festival in Himeji

On October 20, the Polish Festival took place in Himeji, organized by the Japan-Poland Cultural Exchange Association and the Honorary Consulate General of Poland in Kobe. Radosław Tyszkiewicz, the Foundation's President, met with Hideyasu Kiyomoto, the Mayor of Himeji, to discuss opportunities for collaboration and the Foundation's future involvement in projects in the Kansai region. Last year, Mayor Kiyomoto visited Krakow, and in 2024, a partnership and cooperation agreement was signed between the Japanese Himeji Castle and the Royal Castle in Wawel. The artistic program of this year's Festival included performances by Polish and Japanese artists, including students from the Himeji International School and the General Secondary School of the Sisters of Nazareth in Warsaw. During the festival, attendees could taste delights from Polish cuisine and purchase Polish products, such as ceramics from Bolesławiec, cosmetics, and handmade artistic crafts. Thanks to the efforts of the organizers, including the Honorary Consul General of Poland in Kobe, Masahiko Suruga, and the Polish community in Kansai, the festival attracted significant interest!
