A new report by the Poland-Japan Foundation titled ‘Poland’s Offshore Milestone as a New Area of Cooperation with Japan,’ authored by Paweł Wiącek, analyzes how the launch of Poland’s first offshore wind farm represents a breakthrough moment in the country’s energy transformation, while simultaneously opening new opportunities for cooperation with Japan. The publication compares the ambitions of both countries in the development of offshore wind energy, discusses the role of offshore wind in strengthening energy security and infrastructure resilience, and highlights the complementary competencies of Poland and Japan. The author concludes that offshore wind energy should become one of the key pillars of bilateral energy cooperation, alongside LNG, hydrogen, and civil nuclear energy.
