In a cordial and inspiring atmosphere, a meeting took place between Radosław Tyszkiewicz, President of the Poland-Japan Foundation, and Łukasz Sęk, Vice-President of the City of Krakow. The discussion provided an opportunity to highlight Krakow’s long-standing and exceptionally close relations with Japan – both in the economic and cultural spheres. The significance of initiatives such as the activities of the Manggha Museum of Japanese Art and Technology, which for years has served as a bridge connecting Polish and Japanese cultures, and the partnership agreement between Wawel Royal Castle and Himeji Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was recalled. The upcoming visit of representatives from the Małopolska Voivodeship to Expo 2025 in Osaka was also discussed, which could open new opportunities for promoting the region in Japan. During the meeting, President Tyszkiewicz presented the mission and current activities of the Poland-Japan Foundation, and also discussed potential areas of cooperation with the City of Krakow. Both parties expressed their willingness to develop joint initiatives that will strengthen ties between Poland and Japan, benefiting the residents of Krakow and the entire region.
